Archive
The archive houses the complete collection of Roy Ascott’s publications, books, conference papers, journals, unpublished writing, early online transcripts, slides, programmes, notebooks and exhibition catalogues.
His award of the Prix Ars Electronica as Visionary Pioneer of Media Art perhaps indicates the nature of a significant part of the archive, as do drawings related to the work of his in the collection of the Tate Gallery, London, and other notable public collections.
The Pete Townshend award to Roy Ascott’s Technoetic Arts studio in Shanghai also includes funding enabling Chinese researchers and students to visit and study his work in the archive in Castillo de Locubín.
Academic Appointments
Video and print material relative to Ealing Groundcourse and his presidency of the Ontario College Art, VP and Dean of the San Francisco Institute, Professor at the Hochschülefur Angewandte Kunst in Vienna, his programmes at Gwent College University of Wales, Directorship of Planetary Collegium at Plymouth University, and his current appointment since 2010 as DeTao Master of Technoetic Arts at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art in China.
